023 | Steve Olsher asks How Safe Is Your Business?

Steve is the New York Times bestselling author of What Is Your WHAT? Discover The ONE Amazing Thing You Were Born To Do, and the host of the #1 rated radio show/podcast Reinvention Radio, and I’m SO excited to have him on today’s show.

Can you imagine being removed from your own company, when you were just 20 years old?

This is exactly what happened to Steve Olsher, our guest on Success Unfiltered. Steve shared with us that he had the idea for his very first business at the age of 19. He had been DJ’ing at clubs in his area, had curated a pretty big following and decided that he’d open a club that provided amazing dance music and was alcohol-free (since he was underage).

He created his business plan, found investors, and hired a manager to manage the club. What he hadn’t anticipated was that the manager and the investor would be in cahoots and had a different vision for the club. In the end, because their visions didn’t align, Steve had to just walk away. He had no way of fighting them.

Steve learned a VERY important lesson here; you need to put protective mechanisms in place so that something like this doesn’t happen. However, he admits to still not having implemented it, many years later.

Steve shares a few other stories where he clearly had not protected himself or his business.

Steve is hoping that by sharing his information, he can keep others from making the same mistakes he did.

Steve gets raw and vulnerable in this episode and shares some incredible lessons learned. You DO NOT want to miss this episode!
