048 | Amanda Bond’s White Hot NO

Amanda Bond is the owner of The Ad Strategist and the creator of the StrADedy System. Entrepreneur Magazine calls her a “Facebook advertising genius”, Social Media Examiner named her “the brightest mind in Facebook advertising today” due to her unique mix of creativity and her vast analytical experience from analyzing hundreds of millions of client ad impressions. A fiery personality, Bond mixes education and entertainment in a straight shooting way to show people the right way to do Facebook advertising.

Have you ever experienced a heart-crushing NO? Or, maybe a NO where you felt like crawling into bed for a year?

This week’s guest on Success Unfiltered, Amanda Bond, has too! She’s received a White Hot NO, only she didn’t let it get her down. Instead, Amanda takes the information she’s learned from her NO’s and puts them on a spreadsheet to analyze.

Amanda is a self-proclaimed spreadsheet and data nerd. She takes every NO and places it on a spreadsheet so that she can analyze and learn from them. She wants to figure out what works and what doesn’t, and then implement different sales methods into practice in the future.

Amanda isn’t superhuman, the NO’s do affect her, but she’s learned that it’s important to use your resilience muscle and remind yourself to step back and have a process for reflection.

Give yourself the time and space to feel the feelings from hearing NO, and then once you’ve done that, it’s time to analyze the data!

If you’re ready to stop becoming overwhelmed with every NO, then this episode is a MUST LISTEN!

Enjoy, and thank you for listening and tuning into Success Unfiltered!

Here are a few key secrets we talked about in this episode:

  • Michelle introduces Amanda.
  • Amanda shares her story of starting out in corporate sales with PepsiCo and Labatt.
  • Amanda’s always had the heart of an entrepreneur, but tried to go the traditional route of college to eventually working for PepsiCo as a sales distributor.
  • Working at PepsiCo taught Amanda sheer tenacity, to never give up and to count her NO’s until she got to YES.
  • Finding someone who can keep you motivated is also important when working a sales job.
  • Amanda left PepsiCo for love. ;) It was her out that catapulted her into entrepreneurialism.
  • Amanda shares her biggest, most devastating NO came when she was turned down to travel to Thailand with her school, but she didn’t give up!
  • One way that Amanda is growing her business this year is by making connections and getting to know new people.
  • Amanda learned at an early age that every NO is just a data point, and that emotion should be removed.
  • “My initial reaction to a NO is to emotionally react when there's negative feedback, or I want to emotionally react when there's a NO. I'm not a robot that's superhuman.” ~ Amanda Bond
  • Give yourself time and space to feel disappointed when hearing a NO, but then step back and start looking at the data, and analyze it to see what can be done differently.
  • Amanda shares how she does gives herself space to feel disappointed, and then uses it as a data point, with a real life example from a previous client of hers.
  • Amanda gets vulnerable and shares her most accomplished NO, which involves a huge influencer and a WHITE HOT NO (which is a clue to who wanted to work with her).
  • “Sometimes, you just gotta check in with your gut and your intuition, and it's going to tell you to do something weird.” ~ Amanda Bond
  • Amanda shares what she would tell her younger self.
