Have you ever watched the movie Hitch?
I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I do love movies! I was recently on a plane and ended up watching Hitch. In this movie, Will Smith stars as a dating coach.
One of his clients wants to get the attention of the woman he likes and calls on Hitch to help. Together, they study the woman: what does she like? What is important to her? What will speak to her?
Hitch isn’t there to make them fall in love. If you could call a relationship a fire, Hitch was the one to help them find that spark, to know if it truly would catch.
The research that Hitch and his clients did helped them to be able to light that spark and see what would happen.
As we’re pitching investors, customers, and brands, we need to find how to light that spark, and sometimes, it requires an extra level of creativity.
This week’s guest on Success Unfiltered, Becca Brown, is the co-founder of Solemates, a line of shoe accessories specifically designed to keep high heels from sinking into the grass. When Becca was exploring creative ways to be carried in David’s Bridal, she ended up catching the approval of Oprah instead!
How did she get their attention? You’ll have to listen to find out! HINT! It has to do with Pizza!
